G E K Media Communication Launches Road Safety Campaign in Ghana

In the light of the recent road accident that occurred on a busy high way in Ghana which claimed thirty four lives, GEK Media Communication has launched a road safety campaign to promote careful driving to minimize drastically road fatalities and the number of deaths recorded yearly through road accidents.

According to the chief executive officer of GEK Media Communication Mr. George Egeh, it is very pathetic how innocent people die in accidents due to the inability of drivers to restrain from reckless over speeding and ill calculated over taking which he said is the cause of many road accidents, speaking passionately on the accident he said it is just too early in the year to record such a high number of deaths through a road accident, this is why drastic steps must be taken to nick the situation in the mud immediately.

Sympathizing with the families of the deceased, Mr. George Egeh further said as part of ongoing efforts by the company to make the campaign effective, a road safety ambassador will be appointed to champion the campaign. He added that a stakeholders meeting will be held with the national road safety commission, the traffic monitoring unit of the Ghana police service, national road transport workers union and other relevant stakeholders to consider various options that can be explored to curb road accidents now and in the future.

Finally he said the road safety campaign will be tiltled "Your Safety is Priority"
