Terrorist Targets Ghana - UK Warns Citizens

The UK Government is giving a warning of a possible terror attack on Ghana following the kidnap of the two Canadian volunteer workers in Kumasi, and warns its citizens already in the country and those planning to travel there to take caution.

The warning was carried in an interview on a foreign travel advice that was published on the 7th of June 2019.

The report says, the terrorists are likely to carry out attack in Ghana, and the attack could be indiscriminating, including place visited by foreigners. Hence, those living in and around should remain vigilant, exercise caution and follow the advice of the local authority. And if anything should happen, the local police may impose curfew to contain the situations.

Already, the Ghana National Security Apparatus, are on high alert following the last Month warning by the African Center For Security And Intelligence Studies ( ACSIS) about possible attack from an Islamist terror group from a neighboring country Burkina Faso.

According, to the African Center for Security and Intelligence Studies, ( ACSIS), Salafi Jihadists have been hemming a plan to attack churches in the country as part of the preparation, members have been commuting between Ghana and their base in Burkina Faso.

The Canadian Embassy have updated the travel advice to its citizens in Ghana to be aware of their surrounding , avoid walking alone and also, displaying signs of wealth in town.
